Measured, not argued
Most tolerances are a number under a stated viewing condition, which is why a measured report ends it.
Cracking
Categorised on how wide the crack is and where it sits. A category 2 crack of 1mm to 5mm is a different discussion from a hairline one.
Finish
Assessed under normal light at a stated distance, not with a torch held against the wall.
What you do with it
If it falls outside, the report says which clause and by how much.
